The Excel's network covers the entire continental United States. The domestic network has multiple locations in major metropolitan areas. Access lines from a customer site are connected to the nearest POP for interconnection to the network backbone.
The network also features SS7 signaling to enable fast call set-up and exchange of addressing information between network switches, platforms and nodes. It checks the availability of various routes to the termination trunk group before establishing the actual call.
